The Yukon Food Security Network is hosting ongoing roundtable discussions about the state of school food across the territory.
These gatherings will strengthen new and existing relationships, enhance cross-sectoral communication, and promote collaboration. Our goal is to bring partners, organizations, and stakeholders together to support a coordinated response to the current challenges in our communities (learn more at the ‘School Food Landscape’ portal).

Strategizing for School Food Advocacy in a Shifting Political Landscape
November 17, 2025
Hosted by YFNED at their Alasshedal space, we gathered for a hybrid discussion that brought together active voices in school food, education, youth advocacy, agriculture, health & wellness, and northern food security research.
With the newly elected Yukon Party’s plan to overhaul the Department of Education and the National School Food Program made permanent, the group identified opportunities to align mutual goals & strengthen collaboration to safeguard the futures of all Yukon children.
