In the Spring, the Yukon Food Security Network published three Calls to Action ahead of the territorial election being held on November 3rd, 2025. In continued conversations with community leaders and educators throughout the territory, a concern we continue to hear is the urgent need for additional support for school food services.

This election, we are calling for immediate action from the new government to ensure that ALL students in the Yukon have equal access to healthy food at school.
- Increase investment in school food programs
- Work with communities and partners to design flexible, culturally appropriate programs that reflect local needs
- Work with YFNED to ensure Indigenous control over programs for Indigenous students
